This is the SMALL (0.3 mg) vial, with enough compound to set up 5 x 96-well plates of your protein in complex with 10 mM Crystallophore No1 (the recommended concentration for crystallisation). The small 0.3 mg vial contains too little Crystallophore No1 for soaking into crystals for phasing experiments.
Polyvalan Crystallophore No1(patent pending) is a luminescent Terbium complex that is an effective nucleant and provides significant isomorphous and anomalous phasing power. It has been used in a wide range of structure solutions since it's launch, including novel protein complexes and integral membrane proteins. A recent review in J. Appl. FORMING

Crystallophore No1 acts as a nucleating agent and improves crystal quality of pre-existing hits. As shown right for T5 phage with and without Crystallophore No1 (top right).

FINDING

Crystallophore No1 luminesces strongly in the visible region under UV excitation making detecting crystals in drops and loops easy. See middle right.

PHASING

Terbium is a lanthanide and therefore has significant potential for use as an anomalous scatterer and in traditional isomorphous replacement. When Crystallophore No1 has been used as a nucleant, it is often found bound to the protein thus providing high quality phasing power.

Each small vial ccontains 0.3 mg of the complex, enough to set up 5 96-well plates of your target protein in complex with 10 mM Crystallophore No1 (recommended concentration). Shipped at room temperature. The dry powder will keep for upto 1 year in a sealed tube at room temperature in dry conditions. Solutions of Crystallophore No1 can be kept for up to 2 months in a sealed tube. Solutions of the compound mixed with your target protein should be used immediately.
