Glucosides
Glucosides are one of the most popular detergent categories for membrane
protein work as they are mild and non-denaturing. They disrupt protein-lipid and lipid-lipid interactions rather than protein-protein
interactions. Glucosides are micelle-producing detergents perfect for extration, maintaining stability and solubility and structural studies.
The ability of these detergents to stabilize large macromolecules is well characterised, with the sugar serving as a polar headgroup. As identifying the optimum detergent for any particular membrane protein and/or application isn't easy, Anatrace offer a broad suite of glucoside detergents to help you screen for the best fit to your research.
Anatrace has been the gold standard for
detergents used in membrane protein work since they launched the first
commercially available version of DDM more than 30 years ago.
In March 2017, Anatrace acquired Molecular Dimensions. We are now
pleased to offer Anatrace's detergent range
alongside our own range to help our customers raise their standards and achieve more.
