NG Class

NG Class detergents (such as LMNG) are an alternative to conventional derivatives like DDM, DM and OG, giving unique benefits such as:

  • Lower CMC values
  • Increased protein stability after dilution below CMV values
  • Stabilization of the first ligand bound GPCR, leading to its structure.

These novel detergents can improve protein stability and crystallizability relative to more common detergents. We recommend trying a parallel experiment with new Anatrace NG detergents and your current detergent to find out which works best for your research.

Anatrace has been the gold standard for detergents used in membrane protein work since they launched the first commercially available version of DDM more than 30 years ago.

In March 2017, Anatrace acquired Molecular Dimensions. We are now pleased to offer Anatrace's detergent range alongside our own range to help our customers raise their standards and achieve more.
